About Us

Colco Fine Woods has been a hardwood distributor on Jackson in Memphis since 1960 with Bill Cockroft (see recent article from Downtowner. Click HERE) as the owner. He has provided the MidSouth with a fine selection of both domestic and exotic lumber on both a retail and wholesale level. With Bill’s experience and expertise he is the person to talk to about your hardwood needs.

Mary Cook is Bill’s assistant and handles all office matters for Colco. John Wesby has been in charge of the mill operation since the beginning days of Colco. With help from his assistant Maurice Moore, John could have your lumber milled to thickness and straight line ripped within a couple of days.

The showroom and store is staffed by a number of woodworkers that would be capable and happy to assist you in your woodworking project.
